Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions explain how bookings and cleaning services provided by McClean Services operate. By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them before a service begins.

1. About McClean Services

McClean Services provides residential and commercial cleaning across selected areas of London and Kent.

A quote request submitted through the website is an enquiry and is not a confirmed booking.

2. Quotes and bookings

Prices are based on the information provided by the customer, including the type and size of the property, its condition, the selected service and any additional requirements.

A booking is only confirmed once McClean Services has agreed the service, price, date and time with the customer.

If the information supplied is incomplete or the condition of the property is materially different from what was described, McClean Services may discuss a revised price or revised scope before continuing.

No additional work or additional charge will be applied without discussing it with the customer first.

3. Customer information

The customer is responsible for providing accurate information about the property, required service, access arrangements, parking restrictions, pets, hazards and any areas that need special attention.

The customer should tell McClean Services about fragile, valuable or damaged items before cleaning begins.

4. Access to the property

The customer must make sure that safe and reasonable access to the property is available at the agreed time.

Where keys, entry codes or lockbox details are provided, they will only be used to carry out the agreed service.

If the team cannot gain access at the agreed time, the booking may need to be rearranged. Any charge will be discussed fairly and will reflect reasonable time or costs actually incurred.

5. Cleaning products and equipment

Whether McClean Services or the customer supplies cleaning products and equipment will be agreed before the booking.

The customer must tell McClean Services about any allergies, sensitivities, specialist surfaces or products that must not be used.

6. Service scope

The work carried out will be based on the service and checklist agreed with the customer.

Optional services, including oven cleaning, internal windows, inside cupboards, linen changes and restocking, are only included where they have been specifically agreed.

The time needed may vary depending on the size and condition of the property.

7. Customer responsibilities

The customer should:

  • Provide safe access to the property
  • Provide running water and electricity where required
  • Secure cash, jewellery and valuable personal items
  • Identify fragile, damaged or specialist items
  • Keep children and pets safely away from active cleaning areas
  • Tell McClean Services about known hazards
  • Obtain any required parking permission

8. Prices and payment

The agreed price and payment arrangements will be confirmed before the service.

The customer must pay using the method and within the timeframe agreed when the booking is confirmed.

Any parking, congestion or access costs will only be charged where they were agreed in advance or were reasonably unavoidable and the customer was informed.

9. Cancellations and rescheduling

Customers should contact McClean Services as soon as possible if they need to cancel or rearrange a booking.

Where reasonable costs have already been incurred because of a late cancellation, failed access or a cleaner travelling to the property, McClean Services may ask the customer to cover those reasonable costs.

Any charge will be proportionate to the actual loss or cost caused by the cancellation. McClean Services will not automatically retain all payments or apply an excessive penalty.

Where consumer cancellation rights apply to a booking made online, by telephone or away from business premises, those legal rights are not affected by these terms.

10. Service starting during a cancellation period

If a customer asks for a service to begin before any applicable legal cancellation period has ended, McClean Services may ask for clear confirmation that the customer wants the work to begin.

Where permitted by law, the customer may be required to pay for work reasonably completed before a valid cancellation request was received.

11. Quality concerns

If a customer is unhappy with part of the service, they should contact McClean Services as soon as reasonably possible and explain the concern.

Where appropriate, McClean Services will review the concern and discuss a reasonable solution. This may include returning to address an area of cleaning where this is practical and proportionate.

Nothing in these terms removes the customer’s legal rights, including the right for services to be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

12. Damage and breakages

McClean Services should be informed of any alleged damage or breakage as soon as reasonably possible.

McClean Services will review the circumstances fairly. Responsibility will depend on what happened and on the condition of the item or area before the service.

McClean Services is not responsible for normal wear and tear, pre-existing damage, insecure fittings or damage arising from incorrect information supplied by the customer.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

13. Health and safety

McClean Services may refuse to begin or may stop work where conditions are unsafe, illegal or materially different from those described.

This may include hazardous substances, unsafe electrical equipment, aggressive animals, structural hazards, pest infestations or conditions requiring specialist cleaning.

Where this happens, McClean Services will explain the reason and discuss the next steps with the customer.

14. Pets

Customers must inform McClean Services about pets at the property and take reasonable steps to keep them safe and away from active cleaning areas.

15. Photographs

McClean Services will not use identifiable photographs of a customer’s property for marketing without permission.

Photographs may be taken where reasonably necessary to record the condition of the property, clarify the work required or document an issue. They will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

16. Delays and events outside reasonable control

McClean Services will try to arrive at the agreed time but travel, weather, emergencies and earlier jobs may occasionally cause delays.

Where a significant delay occurs, McClean Services will try to contact the customer and agree a practical solution.

17. Commercial customers

Commercial cleaning arrangements may be subject to a separate written quotation, service schedule or agreement.

Where a separate written agreement has been accepted, that agreement will take priority where it conflicts with these general website terms.

18. Personal information

Personal information submitted through the website or during a booking will be handled in accordance with the McClean Services Privacy Policy.

19. Website information

McClean Services aims to keep the information on this website accurate. Service descriptions are general and the exact scope, availability and price will be confirmed directly with the customer.

20. Changes to these terms

McClean Services may update these terms where necessary. The version applying to a booking will normally be the version available when the booking was confirmed, unless a change is required by law or separately agreed.

21. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Customers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also have rights under the laws and courts that apply where they live.
